EXCHANGE
PHONES
Phone
snooping is one of the worst (and most common) relationship offenses. To see
what it would actually feel like to snoop and be snooped on, trade your
cellphones with your Significant Other(S.O). Sounds weird right? Try weird. Do
this for 36hours, access all forms of communication (Facebook, Twitter, e-mail, texts).
Trust me, after this exercise things will be good enough to make you both vow
never to spy again. The point here isn't how uncomfortable the
exercise will make either/both of you feel, not because you have anything to
hide, but because of either's willingness to surrender so much of your
privacy. The demonstration of trust is to commit to each other not
to snoop.
RECORD A FIGHT
It’s simple:
Record a fight. And then play it back later when things must have been amended.
This is an incredible way to learn how you speak in your relationship. You
might be surprised to discover how defensively you react to criticism, or who
tends to dominate the conversation.
TAKE YOUR PARTNER’S IN-LAWS ON A DATE
The idea? To
get their perspective on the family’s dynamics.
